表示“指控”的两个常用表达，注意两者所用动词不同，所搭配的介词也不同：

▲charge sb with sth (doing sth)

They charged him with theft. 他们控告他偷窃。

He charged me with neglecting my duty. 他指责我疏忽职守。

He was charged with an offensive weapon. 他被指控携带攻击性武器。

They were charged with unlawful possessionof firearms. 他们被指控非法藏有枪支。

He was charged with careless driving andfailing to report an accident. 他被指控不小心驾车并且未对事故报案。

The police accused him of theft [stealing].警方控告他偷盗。

The police accused him of murder. 警方控告他谋杀。

She accused him of cheating, but he deniedit. 她指控他欺诈，但他否认了。

They accused him of being a traitor, whichhe was. 他们指控他是叛徒，他真是叛徒。

▲顺便说一句，accuse还可表示“指责”，也是与with搭配：

She accused him of blocking her promotion. 她指责他阻挠自己的升迁。

They accused the minister of being soft oncrime. 他们指责部长对犯罪行为态度不够强硬。
